World Youth Day

Created and Captured by - Lilly Parr

World Youth Day is a pilgrimage for all the young catholics from all over the world to congregate in the host country every 3-4 years. During this event usually lasting between 1 & 2 weeks, young people come together from all nationalities to share and deepen their faith with each other. You get a chance to visit different cultures and experience their lives as you live in their communities with locals hosting the young people for a week before the event. During the pilgrimage, they partake in activities, conferences and work with the local people of the communities. The pilgrimage ends with a midnight vigil with the pope, millions of people sleep out under the stars, sharing in prayer and mass with the Pope.

This VR Project follows the pilgrimage in 2019 in Panama and showcases the different events, spaces and the beautiful country. Also looking back on other World Youth Days and what the pilgrimage means to the people who fly worldwide for this experience.

Below you can explore the VR tour of the World Youth Day
